Allison Bolger HLTA

MA CQSW

HLTA with maths specialism

I have completed training to support pupils with Autism.

As a keyworker for a number of pupils on the SEN register, I strive to ensure that they have the necessary resources to meet their learning needs.

I support in class and teach maths to groups of Year 11 GCSE pupils who benefit from small group work.

I also teach Entry Level mathematics to pupils who need to consolidate their basic maths knowledge.

I have a responsibility for exam concessions ensuring that pupils are assessed to receive extra time, readers and scribes in their assessments and exams when it is their normal way of working. Our team will then act as readers, scribes and invigilators to these pupils.

Sarah Brewster Learning Support Assistant

I believe an inclusive education should be available to all pupils. As an LSA, I support pupils with a variety of different needs.

I run targeted small group interventions to improve and develop the learning and/or behaviour of our SEN pupils.

I audit our departments’ key worker system and help run diagnostic testing to screen and diagnose pupils with specific learning difficulties. I have implemented coffee mornings for our parents/carers of pupils with Autism. I have teaching experience in the Technology department.

I am also one of the founding members of the Leytonstone School alumni. I have a passion for post education advice and have organised a careers day with former pupils, opened up conversations on different careers which has enabled me to pair SEN pupils with previous alumni pupils for mentoring.

I am currently learning British Sign Language and I am trained in:

  • AET Making Sense of Autism
  • Behaviour Management
  • Core Strategies for delivering effective literacy intervention
  • Extending and Enhancing Good Autism Practice
