Admissions
We are strong believers in great, local schools for local children, and we proudly serve our local community. Due to our strong reputation and high demand for pupil places, our catchment area for admissions into year 7 is now under 1 mile.
Admissions to Leytonstone School are managed by the local authority. Year 6 pupils wishing to join Leytonstone School should follow the transition guidance from the London Borough of Waltham Forest on selection of their school placements and return the necessary forms to the admissions authority by the published date. Appeals information can be found here.
If your child wishes to transfer to Leytonstone School during their secondary education, please contact Waltham Forest Admissions Service using the appropriate information on in-year admissions.

We are unable to accept any applications for a school place directly.
If the school is oversubscribed, the following criteria is used by the admissions authority to allocate places to the school:
- Statement of special educational needs (EHCP)
- Looked-after or previously looked-after children
- Certain medical conditions or children deemed 'at risk'
- Siblings currently attending the school
- A child of staff employed at the school
- Distance

We hold an Open Evening in the autumn term for prospective pupils and their families. We also love showing families our school in operation on a normal school day. If you would like to observe our pupils' experience of school, please email our Family Engagement Partner to arrange a visit.
We look forward to welcoming you to the Leytonstone School community.
