The LRC provides a rich learning environment for in-class resources along with amenities for after school revision, homework/coursework, quiet study and reading. The LRC is also the school library and is a key resource in supporting the literacy development of all our students through providing fiction and reference books and running an Accelerated Reading programme to encourage, monitor and develop reading.
As well as supporting students in all aspects of their learning activities, the LRC is also the base for Careers and Further Education advice where students can get support in applying to colleges, courses/training and the world of work by providing references and helping with application forms. Through the help of the LRC, Leytonstone School has seen a very high percentage of its students move successfully onto further education, training and employment.
The LRC also supports student development through activities such as The Speak Out Challenge which encourages students to enhance their public speaking and communication skills.
