College Open days 2016-17

Supporting our students into further education and careers is a vital part of our work at Leytonstone School. The Careers Programme runs throughout the five years at Leytonstone School. For example:

Year Group Focus
7 The World of Work – What skills are needed for various careers?
8 The World of Work – What skills are needed for various careers?
9 Option choice consequences for GCSE, Further and Higher education, Training and Employment.
10 Introduction to Post-16 pathways and career requirements, which is supported by Work Experience placements.
11 A very comprehensive package to support the transition to Post-16 Education or Training including:

  • One-to-one careers interviews and action planning with an independent careers adviser
  • College roadshow, talks and workshops and provision of information looking at the range of Post-16 providers
  • Practice in writing applications and undertaking interviews through the mock interview day
  • Support with choices, applications and interviews
