The document available for download on this page is to provide parents and carers with the information they need to support their child in KS4. Unlike in KS3, the students of Leytonstone School have a limited choice as to the subjects they study in Years 9, 10 and 11. KS4 is a very important stage in a student’s career, at the end of this stage, students should expect to take an examination in all of the subjects they study. The outcome of these examination results will directly affect their chances of further education and therefore their future careers.
We have also gathered a number of resources for Year 11 students to use and revise from. To view and download these resources please follow the instructions below:

As parents and carers will already be aware, students have been through the option process in Year 9 and have made their choices from the option columns. Some subjects form a compulsory part of the curriculum while others are chosen by the student according to their skills and interests. This booklet covers the whole of KS4 rather than just Year 10. The curriculum is seen as a complete course and with the rare exception should continue uninterrupted right the way through to the end of Year 11.
While it is not possible to give a detailed lesson by lesson plan of the whole key stage, the aim of this booklet is to provide some of the background to both the curriculum in general and details which are subject specific. We also aim to provide advice and guidance on the way in which you can support your child through this pressured time in their educational career.
