On Friday 15th December Leytonstone School will be hosting a mock results day for the Year 11 students, beginning at 8:15. To help support the students with this, morning intervention will not take place that Friday, but they will be expected for an 8.15am start in the main hall. This will also allow students enough time to open their results, digest the information and be ready to start lessons as normal at 9:00.
They will receive their mock results in the same manner that will receive their GCSE results next summer, opening a brown envelope in the main hall. This will be a tense time for our students, so we want to ensure they feel supported. As a result, form tutors, select senior members of staff and Head of Year will also be present, and lessons that day will consist of reflections on the results, with each pupil given individualised areas for revision.
We want to stress a ‘fall forward’ mentality where students see these results as an opportunity to direct their revision. To help with this, on Tuesday 19th December pupils will be with tutors designing revision calendars. From these results, we will also assign period 6 provision to the area most in need for students to ensure they can cover any gaps in their knowledge.
In addition to mock results day, please be aware that students are not allowed to leave school during the school day to attend college interviews. They must instead, as in previous years, contact the college and re-arrange them for after school. This is to ensure students do not miss any lesson time which could in turn, hinder their progress.
