10 February 2017
As part of our ongoing commitment to safeguarding students, both in school and out, Leytonstone School are marking safer internet week from Monday 20th February to Friday 25th February.
During this week, we will be talking to students about ways to keep safe on line, in particular issues around sharing photos and video and posting “selfies” on line.
You will be aware that we have a range of information on our website, www.leytonstoneschool.org, regarding E-safety and on line bullying which parents can use should they have any concerns regarding on line issues. In particular how to manage on line communication through Facebook, Twitter and Snap Chat (Snap Chat is very popular with young people at the moment).
Additionally further help can be found on the safer internet centre website, www.saferinternet.org.uk
As we move into half term and students have more time to spend on line, I’d like to remind parents where to find information and encourage you to discuss how to stay safe on line in preparation for the work we will be doing with students, in school, after half term to help keep our young people safe online.
Have a safe and happy half term.
